First and foremost, the biggest change in this update is the addition of the new map editor.

This editor allows players to create and share custom maps, as well as play on maps created by other players. In addition to the map editor, a number of other new features have been added, including:

  • A new "configurable" difficulty setting, which allows players to tailor the difficulty of the game to their own liking.
  • A "mod" setting, which allows players to enable or disable mods while playing the game.
  • A new "tutorial" mode, which introduces new players to the basics of Factorio.
  • A number of other small changes and improvements have been made, which can be found in the full patch notes.
